Yea agreed. Can't remember feeling so positive after a defeat. They really should have the belief now that we can get top 4. Thought we deserved a point yesterday.

After going toe to toe yesterday with City, I genuinely feel we need not fear any other team in our quest for top 4 from now to the end of the Season.

Also we have now play City, Spurs and Liverpool twice!

Man utd away is the only real tricky one

21 year old, captain of a top 4/6 club, plays every week, regular England international and becoming a better player being coached by Moyes/Pearce/Nolan/Nevins and Irvine.

Or join a big side and spend every other week on the bench until he realises that sometimes a big fish in a small pond is more preferable.

Just give him a pay rise and build the side round him.

I saw that Darlo and tried to name them. I could only get to 12.

Here you go.

It is vital we get a proper backup for Fabiański this summer exactly because we cannot count on his fitness at key moments like this.

What's the point of getting into Europe when we don't have a fully operational number 1?

I agreee our success for the rest of the season will be about injuries. We’ve managed well to now.

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-1
Whether or not we get a top six (or even top four)finish depends not on our capability but our injuries. Whatever we think of Fabianski we know only too well how we perform without him, yesterday being a classic example. We had been fortunate with injuries up until a fortnight ago now our weakness due to the size of the squad is becoming very transparent, our bench yesterday looked pretty pathetic and any more injuries will really hurt us.

If we do get into Europe then a lot of money needs to be spent on building the squad and any thought of selling Rice, Soucek or any of those playing yesterday would be quite ridiculous. We either need new owners or a complete change of attitude by Sullivan.

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-1
All those saying Rice will be sold to "clear off club debt" need to realise who the club are in debt to.

Sullivan & Gold have a nice little earner out of the money they've lent to the club - why would they want to kill that off?

In any case, whoever they sell to will almost certainly take their debt on.

In the meantime, Rice should be priced at a rate that would even make Man City/PSG/Barcelona/Chelsea & Man U baulk (plus 25% for even having the fucking cheek to ask).

Grumpster has morphed into one of those posters that moans about other posters moaning. Weird, as I don't remember him being like that before.

Grumpster,
What are you on about?
I’ve not heard anyone(not one) criticise Declan Rice the West Ham captain.
The best 22 year old “English” player in the league by a mile.

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-1
Grumpster,
I beg to differ, not heard anyone say anything other than Declan Rice as a 22 year old has the world at his feet.
Still get the odd wanker slagging Moyes off mind.

There are still west ham fans who criticise Rice.

He's the best and most consistent player we've had for a long time.

If we'd played that way last week, we'd have CRUISED to victory instead of 'clinging on by our finger nails' for the last half hour against the Yids.

I criticised the 'hoofball' tactics we used, and it looks like Moyes saw my comments, and took note.

If you need help with anything else, just WhoMail me, Moysie.

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-1
After giving Man City a real game today we have no team to fear on today’s evidence we have it in us to beat the rest.
I was hoping for a top 10 finish we”ll easily surpass that.
Is it now too mental to consider top four.?

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-1
If Rice does go, which I strongly doubt, Moyes will insist that every penny is invested back into the team, meaning the dwarfs won't be any better off financially.

This is a time to twist, not stick.

Interesting graphic on MoTD. We are second only to Man City for having highest number of goals from.different scorers Nice thing to see and another testament to how good we are as a team.

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-1
Late to the thread after a busy day, so I just hope there wasn't any knicker wetting during or after the game.

Against a team who haven't been behind in a leagie game since early November, we gave a cracking account of ourselves and probably man cities hardest game since we last played them, which is a testament to the job Moyes is doing.

We're one of the hardest teams to beat in the league whilst also being bloody dangerous I'm attack and that's a sentence I've barely been able to say much in the past 40 years.

Always loved west ham but haven't loved many squads/players in recent years, but this mob are making us proud with their effort and attitude and our ta spirit is a joy to see.

Refreshing seeing an oppo manager admit his boys have been in a battle with no excuses as well, though pep has a bit of class compared to most other managers.
